HERRIN, IL — A Herrin man pled guilty to aggravated DUI, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced in Williamson County Court Monday to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says on Nov. 30, 2015, 52-year-old Guy A. Phipps was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop in Herrin. This was his fourth DUI offense.

In addition to the prior DUIs, Phipps has prior convictions for theft, burglary and driving on a suspended license.

Zanotti says Phipps will serve two years of mandatory supervised release following his release from prison.
