MCLEANSBORO — The City of McLeansboro opened bids Thursday morning at City Hall for the construction of water mains, construction of a new water tower and removal of the existing water tower.

 

According to a post on the City of McLeansboro’s Facebook page, Shawnee Professional Services is reviewing all submitted bids. The apparent winning bids were Caldwell Tanks of Louisville, Kentucky for the tower work in the amount of $1,743,000 and Followell Construction of Marion for the construction of water mains in the amount of $91,777.

 

Final approval of bids will be given at the City Council meeting on Sept. 10. Bid advertisements for Contract C, electrical work on the tower, will be published later this year.
