FRANKLIN COUNTY — The Franklin County Board recently held a special meeting for the purpose of selecting a new States Attorney. The position was vacated by newly appointed Judge Evan Owens.

The Franklin County Board appointed Phillip Butler to the position. Butler has served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the office under Owens. Butler was sworn into the office shortly after being appointed by newly sworn in Judge Evan Owens.
