CARMI — A Mt. Vernon, Indiana man wanted on two warrants is now facing more charges after leading police on a brief chase Thursday morning in Carmi.

Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter says an officer saw 32-year-old Alex R. Ricketts driving a car on Main Street and Plum Street around 10:30 a.m. and knew Ricketts was wanted on warrants.

The officer told Ricketts to stop, but Ricketts continued running. Ricketts was found hiding in a building on Olive Street and was taken into custody.

Ricketts is charged with driving with no license, resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and cited for possession of 12 grams of cannabis.

Ricketts was taken to the White County Jail.

Carter says the warrants were out of White County and Posey County, Indiana for failure to appear and contempt on methamphetamine possession charges.
