CARBONDALE — The Carbondale Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency will give you an opportunity this Saturday to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding your home of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs during the National Prescription Drug Take Back Event.
Bring your pills for disposal to the police department at 501 South Washington Street in Carbondale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Evape cigarettes and pens will also be accepted, however the batteries must be removed prior to disposal. The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, sharps or batteries, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
The Carbondale Police Department is also partnering with Kroger on North Giant City Road and Walmart on East Main as additional sites where unwanted medications can be disposed. Kroger and Walmart’s take back sites will also be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
