WEST FRANKFORT — The West Frankfort City Council is set to discuss and possibly act on accepting bids and awarding projects for renovations to the new City Hall building on West Main when it meets Tuesday night at 6 at City Hall.
The council tabled this item as their meeting a couple of weeks ago after getting two bids regarding the work that will need to be done at the new City Hall. Since the bids were for different scopes of the project, the mayor and commissioners wanted to meet with the contractors to verify the bids first before any action would be taken.
The city hopes to move into the new City Hall the first of the year. As for the current City Hall, there has been discussion about turning it into the West Frankfort Police Department, but as this point in time, it’s just discussion.
Banterra Bank donated the building located at 605 W. Main to the city earlier this year.
