WHITE COUNTY — A Carmi man will spend some time with the Illinois Department of Corrections after being sentenced for burglary and methamphetamine possession Wednesday in White County Court.

White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud says 37-year-old Matthew L. Frashier got four years for burglary – a Class 2 felony – with two years mandatory supervised release and four years for possession of methamphetamine – a Class 3 felony – with one year of mandatory supervised release.

Frashier’s case was investigated by White County Sheriff’s Department. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge. After the sentence was imposed, Frashier was held in direct criminal contempt by Judge Webb for cursing and yelling which resulted in Judge Webb imposing an additional six months of jail to be served consecutively to the prison sentence.
