KINMUNDY, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting Kinlou Road from South West Street to South East Street in Kinmundy will be closed from 8 a.m. Tuesday until 4 p.m. Wednesday for rehabilitative work on the railroad crossing.

A marked detour will be in place to safely guide motorists around the closure.

Delays should be expected and motorists should allow for extra travel time through the area. If possible, motorists should use an alternate route to avoid delays.

Drivers are also urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey posted speed limits, avoid using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.
