CHRISTOPHER — Over the last week, Christopher Police have been working closely with Christopher School officials regarding social media threats that were reportedly made by a student at Christopher High School.

According to a post on the Christopher Police Department’s Facebook page, These posts were made on Snapchat. Although no direct threat of violence was indicated, the student is being monitored until further notice for the social media posts and unconfirmed direct threats.

Christopher Police has interviewed the student, and with the cooperation of the student’s parents, firearms were removed from the home for safe keeping.

Police say at no time was the student in possession of these firearms, and no direct threat was made involving weapons. Some of the social media posts made over the last week were not accurate.

The police department along with school administration at Christopher are working together to keep students and staff safe. Police take all potential threats seriously, and will take appropriate steps to ensure safety.
