CLINTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, Old US 50 from Koch Lane to Hilmes Road will be intermittently restricted to one lane starting Wednesday.

The work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Traffic in voth directions will be maintained using flaggers.

The work is necessary to complete tree removal to improve motorist sight distance along the route.

Work is expected to be completed by late February. Motorists should allow extra time for trips through the area.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changeed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
