Adams said he was getting messages from God all day. Adams said his car had broke down and had been walking all evening to find help. He didn’t know where his car was located. He also told the officer his name was Zach Michaels and did not give his real name until he was in jail.

Once at the jail, a corrections officer was moving Adams’s property and clothes and found a small clear plastic bag in one of his shoes that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Then around 10:30 Monday morning, the sheriff’s office got a call from the man again about a vehicle in a ditch and believed it was going to belong to Adams, who was arrested at his home earlier that morning. The arrest took place at 1171 County Road 550 North in New Haven.
