CARBONDALE, IL — Carbondale Police continue to investigate an early Saturday morning shooting that happened in the 100 block of East Park Street.
Police responded to the scene at 3:40 a.m. in reference to shots fired and a reported gunshot victim.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned there was a dispute amongst acquaintances outside of a party. During the dispute, the victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment and was released.
Police say the suspect is described as a light completed black male in his early 20s, standing 5’8” tall, weighing 150 pounds, with shoulder length, dreadlock hair. He has a tattoo of a cross below his right eye. The suspect may be in a white SUV, possibly a Chevy Suburban. The victim is not being identified at this time.
