MCLEANSBORO, IL — Hamilton County could be one step closer to having a solar farm.

The Hamilton County Board is expected to review, discuss and possibly approve the installation of a solar farm in unincorporated Hamilton County and an application request for a solar farm construction permit when it meets tonight at 6 at the courthouse in McLeansboro.

Board members tabled this issue at last month’s meeting so technical issues in the paperwork could be worked out.

The board is also set to hear various department reports including the sheriff’s department report from Sheriff Tracy Lakin. Discussion is also planned between the sheriff and board members regarding a vehicle purchase.
