MT. VERNON, IL — The Mt. Vernon City Council held a special meeting on Friday morning to discuss the proposed 2021 budget in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel says the city has made adjustments in preparation for revenue loss.
However, as the coronavirus situation continues to be fluid and change each day, Bechtel says so may the city’s plans.
City Council will meet tonight at City Hall for their regularly scheduled meeting which is going to be held via Facebook live and through teleconferencing.
The public is not allowed to physically attend the meeting but you can listen in on AM940/96.1FM/96.5FM with WMIX as the city conducts business.
