HARRISBURG — Harrisburg Police responded to Walmart Monday afternoon after someone reported that a bomb had been planted on their truck.

Saline County Central Dispatch received the call just after 2:45 Monday afternoon, and officers responded to the scene and determined that a bomb squad was necessary to complete a safe inspection of the vehicle and suspected device.

The Illinois Secretary of State Police Hazardous Device Unit responded and inspected the vehicle. The suspected device was determined to not be a bomb.

Harrisburg Police were also assisted at the scene by the Harrisburg Fire Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, and Deaconess EMS.
