FAYETTE COUNTY, IL — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 19-year-old Vandalia man has charged with armed violence and aggravated battery stemming from a stabbing incident over the weekend in Vandalia.
Van W. Klaus was formally charged Monday in Fayette County Court where probable cause was found to detain him.
Klaus is charged with one Class X felony count of armed violence for allegedly stabbing Bo Belcher Sunday night.
Klaus is also charged with two Class 3 felony counts of aggravated battery, and one misdemeanor count of unlawful use of weapons.
He’s next scheduled to appear in court September 15th for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
