CENTRALIA — A late Tuesday night crash in Centralia is being described as intentional and the result of a depressed and suicidal man driving the wrong way into one-way traffic.

According to Centralia police, around 11:30 Tuesday night, 20-year-old James O. Branch, of Centralia, intentionally drove the wrong way on Elm Street near 13th, reaching interstate speeds when he crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by 27-year-old Asia Agin, also of Centralia.

Following the crash, Branch’s vehicle reportedly traveled another 160 feet before coming to a stop.

Both Branch and Agin were taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment, as was a 19-year-old passenger in the Agin vehicle.

Branch was cited for aggravated DUI, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
