JEFFERSON COUNTY — When he appears for trial Tuesday, a 26-year-old Mt. Vernon man will be tried by a judge rather than a jury on the 20 counts Class X felony possession of child pornography against him.
Zachary E. Terry waived his right Monday morning in Jefferson County Court to be tried by a jury and instead asked to be tried by a judge.
Judge Jerry Crisel is scheduled to begin hearing arguments in the case at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Terry is facing 20 Class X felony charges of possession of child pornography depicting a child under the age of 13. He was arrested in May after an investigation into a report of domestic battery led to an investigation into the child pornography charges.
