JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Highway Department is alerting motorists that construction on Dix Irvington Road from Boyd Road to Route 51 will start on April 10th, weather permitting.

This is a 7-mile project which consists of replacing culverts and widening and resurfacing the roadway. You should begin to see signage for construction soon.

This is a large project that will likely continue into the summer. There will be times when complete road closures will be necessary.

Detours will be posted ahead of time and the public will be notified when these closures are scheduled to occur.

Jefferson County Highway Department is currently placing rock and performing other preliminary work in preparation for the widening.
