CLAY COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Little Wabash River below Clay City until early Thursday afternoon.

According to a weather alert, at 19.7 feet the Little Wabash begins to flood Mayflower Road just north of U.S. Route 50

The river was at 13.7 feet Monday morning and was expected to rise above flood stage Monday night and crest at 20 feet Tuesday night.

Flood stage on the Little Wabash is 18 feet. It’s expected it will fall below flood stage sometime Thursday morning.
