MARION COUNTY — A 35-year-old Salem man was arrested over the holiday after Sheriff Kevin Cripps found his behavior outside the Salem Walmart suspicious.
Lloyd Finley allegedly appeared to be hiding his face when he passed the sheriff Monday at the entrance of the store.
Sheriff Cripps reportedly continued watching Finley from a distance, but when he approached him Finley began to quickly walk away from him and toward the pick-up area at the side of the building.
At that point, Cripps reports seeing a baggie in Finley’s hand and ordering him to stop, but Finley instead reportedly attempted to throw the baggie under a vehicle.
Once retrieved, the baggie allegedly contained 30 grams of what field tested positive as methamphetamine, as well as 20 beans of what tested positive as fentanyl.
Finley was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail where he awaits the formal filing of charges and the setting of bond.
