FAYETTE COUNTY — A Fayette County police department says it’s investigating the death of their police canine.

A press release states the City of St. Elmo was notified on July 27th that K-9 Drogo was found deceased.  An investigation into his death is ongoing. 

Drogo was adopted last year from the Jefferson County Animal Control and attended the Police K-9 Academy for 6-weeks last year with his handler Officer Kaelyb Worker.

The City of St. Elmo says until the investigation is completed, no further information will be released.
