WOODLAWN — The Woodlawn High School administration and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reportedly investigated allegations Thursday claiming a student made comments that he would bring a weapon to school today.

Officials report the student in question will not be in attendance at Woodlawn Schools on Friday, there will be a police presence on campus and the schools will also take additional measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.

District staff has reportedly worked with members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department to ensure the safety of students and staff and the situation has been handed over to the Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.
