CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia has announced its annual fall city-wide cleanup event will be held from Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 8.

The curbside pickup service is provided by the City of Centralia Public Works Department.

Participation is limited to single-family residences, town homes, condominiums and apartments that do not exceed four units per building.

All items need to be placed on the curb by six am on your assigned trash pickup day, even if your trash pickup is in the alley.

The City is continuing to accept white goods such as freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, and similar appliances.

Residents are also asked to place smaller items in a container such as a box or a bag.

Please consider recycling any cardboard, glass, aluminum and paper products at Clean & Green’s Recycling Center located on West McCord Street.

All items must be at the curb (not in the alley) by 6:00 a.m. on your normal garbage pickup day. Even if your garbage pickup is in your alley, these items are to be placed curbside.

The route WILL ONLY BE COVERED ONCE, NO EXCEPTIONS.

The week after the city-wide cleanup, Republic Services will start leaf vacuuming service for City of Centralia residents.

Then, starting Monday, October 15th, and continuing through Friday, December 7th, the vacuuming service will follow the trash collection schedule each week.

The usual landscape waste and limbs will continue to be collected every week in approved paper bags.

Leaf collection will begin at 6 a.m. and will end by 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Leaves MUST be ready for vacuum by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled day.

If your leaves are not picked up on the regularly scheduled day (due to severe weather, equipment malfunction or a holiday) they will be picked up the following day or as soon as possible.
