SHATTUC, Ill. — A two-vehicle crash Wednesday night at Shattuc and College roads near Centralia had one driver airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment, while the other was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
According to Sandoval Fire Chief Chad Parson, around 7:11 p.m. Wednesday, they were alerted to a crash where a car crashed into the rear of a grain truck.
Parson said firefighters had to extract the vehicle’s driver through the rear door of the car. They called for a medical chopper due to her injuries. And she was ultimately airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital.
The driver of the grain truck was taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
