Beginning November 6, 2023, Gateway Regional Water Co. will begin a modified disinfection process using Free Chlorine instead of Chloramines for their predominant water disinfectant.

On December 18, 2023, they will switch back from Free Chlorine residual to their normal Chloramines’ residual for their predominant water disinfectant. Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health-related questions.

Customers on Gateway Regional Water Company include Village of Alma; Clay County Water; Village of Farina; Fayette Water Company; City of Flora; FMC Water Co.; Village of Iuka; City of Kinmundy; NEMC Water Co.; Village of Patoka; Raccoon Water Co.; Village of Vernon; Western Wayne Water Co.; and Village of Xenia.
