Crews are still on site at the incident. West Frankfort Fire Chief Derek Sailliez has advised crews have secured the situation and all southbound traffic will be permitted to resume (all lanes) and northbound traffic will be permitted to resume at one lane at this time. Recovery crews are still working to clean up and remove damaged containers and the vehicle.

ISP says one lane on SB I-57 is now open between West Frankfort and Benton. Both NB lanes still closed.

Franklin County Emergency Management says Yellow Banks Road between Route 37 to Orient Road is closed due to the hazmat situation on the interstate.

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Both sides of I-57 were shut down early this morning after a semi hauling flammable gas overturned on the northbound side at the Yellow Banks Road overpass between West Frankfort and Benton.
According to ISP, this happened just before 5 a.m. The northbound and southbound sides of I-57 were closed out of an abundance of caution.
All lanes remain closed for scene clean-up and crash investigation. No further information is available.

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Franklin County Emergency Management is reporting a a crash involving a semi hauling high pressure gas on I-57 at mile marker 68. This is between West Frankfort and Benton.
Interstate traffic is closed at this time on both sides. Avoid the area and take other routes.
