MARION – State Senator Dale Fowler of Harrisburg says the new Westminster Drive Bridge over I-57 south of Marion stands as a symbol of strength, resilience and the enduring connection between our past and our future.
Fowler was in attendance with Illinois Transportation Secretary Omer Osman and other state and local leaders at Monday’s bridge dedication.
Also at the bridge dedication was 118th District State Representative Paul Jacobs, who represents Marion, and is also one of only a few members in the State House that has served our country.
Jacobs says the bridge is in an appropriate place as the Marion VA Medical Center is right next door and helps restores, improves and maintains the physical and mental health and well-being of active and retired members of the military – our veterans.
Marion Mayor Mike Absher also made remarks at the dedication ceremony.
