MARION – The Williamson County Republican Central Committee Executive Board announced Friday that Kristen Bayer has been selected to be the Republican nominee for Williamson County Circuit Clerk.
According to a Williamson County Republicans Facebook post, due to the timing of the resignation of Justin Maze, the Republican Party had the responsibility to name a Republican who would be on the November ballot. Bayer will be running unopposed.
Bayer, a lifelong Williamson County resident, says she is excited for this opportunity and is looking forward to serving the people of Williamson County.
Maze resigned as Circuit Clerk on July 1 due to his involvement in a federal bank fraud case.
Rachel Moake was appointed as Interim Circuit Clerk by the Williamson County Board a few days after Maze resigned.
