On Saturday around 945pm Beverly left her frail body and became a citizen of God’s glorious kingdom.

Beverly and her husband Keith moved to Waltonville in 1998 upon retirement. They were greeted with open arms by her husband’s kin who are from Waltonville.

Beverly was a member of the Waltonville Community Church. She loved the lord and when she was no longer able to attend in person, the church family made sure she had a church service bulletin and snacks from most every Sunday service she missed.

The Gilberts enjoyed many years being “snowbirds” living in Texas from November to March. Beverly made several “snowbird girlfriends” who she enjoyed shopping, eating out, day trips to Mexico, and playing cards.

In Beverly’s last year’s you could find her in her chair drinking Prairie Farms sweet tea and eating Cheeto puffs. She loved to watch the Wheel of Fortune (every single night), soap operas, and football with her husband. She spoke to daughter every night before she went to bed, always saying “I just needed to hear your voice before I go to sleep.”

Beverly’s most significant accomplishment was raising her two children, Rebecca, and Raymond. She has 6 grandchildren who were the light of her life. She never stopped talking about them to whoever would listen. Beverly has 3 great grandchildren. Gianna and Mia (Bryan Gilbert) and Hollynn (Hailey Whisenant). She loved when they would stop by. Beverly’s last years on earth were a struggle. She fought hard every day to get better in order to see her family one more time. She was aided numerous times by the Waltonville Fire Department, for which our family is greatly indebted. When friends came to call she continued to cherish their warm embrace, and find comfort surrounded by conversation and laughter. She never stopped absorbing the love coming from those around her, and she returned it in kind. She never stopped being Beverly.

On, 12/24/24 she would have been married to her husband Keith for 60 years. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. She loved the Lord and is rejoicing in His presence for eternity. Beverly’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched.

Private services will be held.

Memorials may be made in Beverly’s memory to Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois.
