Rhea Marceline “Marcy” Brubaker, age 97 of Salem, passed away at her home on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Marcy was born on February 16, 1927 in Gibson City, the daughter of Warren and Minnie (Craig) Smith.  She married Gerald Brubaker in Salem on June 26, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1976.

Survivors include her children, Gary Brubaker and wife Patti of California, Tom Brubaker and wife Vickie of Salem, Elaine Toth and husband John of Salem, Mike Brubaker and wife Brenda of Newbern, Tennessee, Randy Brubaker of Carterville, Rick Brubaker and wife Cindy of Wildwood, Missouri, and John Brubaker of Salem; and siblings, Keith Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Geraldine Sullens of Coal Valley, and Joyce Crow of Salem; step-daughters, Marsha Lewis and husband Allen and Becky Kissel and husband Wayne.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Minnie; her husband, Gerald; and her siblings, Norma Maxey, Kenneth Smith, Elwood Smith, and Warren Smith; and one step-daughter, Nancy Courtright.

Marcy was a member of First Christian Church in Salem.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening.  She was a great cook and was known for her pies.  She was a homemaker, and previously worked in the deli at Southern Gardens Grocery Store in Salem.

Private Funeral Services for Rhea Marceline “Marcy” Brubaker will be held at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.  Interment will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
