PADUCAH – The National Weather Service says the Winter Storm Warning that was in effect until 9 this morning has been cancelled.

Several inches of snow fell across southern Illinois overnight.

Slick roads, blowing snow and exceptional cold will make travel dangerous.

If you have to travel, please be careful, give yourself extra time to get to your destination, have a fully charged cell phone and charger, a flashlight, and food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Also give road crews plenty of room to remove snow and ice from the roadway

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday for our area.

Very cold wind chills only increasing to near or below zero today and falling to 10 to 13 below tonight.

The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
