SALEM, IL — A Salem man was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Broadway.

18-year-old Tyree Wilburn now faces charges including aggravated battery to a correctional officer, illegal possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest after a gun was found in his possession while being booked. A correctional officer was treated for injuries after Wilburn allegedly kicked him during the booking process.

A passenger, 20-year-old Mason Hollinshead, was released on a notice to appear for possession of a controlled substance.
