(SALEM, IL) — A 19-year-old Iuka man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County Court to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge. Jacob Mann pleaded guilty to the more serious charge against him of Class 3 felony possession of child pornography, and was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections. A lesser charge of misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse of a victim of whom he was at least more than 5-years older was dismissed. Man was arrested over the summer after Marion County Sheriff’s deputies acted on a tip that he had nude photos of an underage girl on his phone and that he was with the girl at that time. A second source confirmed for deputies that the photos of the 15-year-old were on Mann’s phone, so the deputies went to the girls’ home, where the girl reportedly told them she sent the photo’s to Mann. Mann told deputies he asked the girl to send him the photos and that he had sex with the girl multiple times in the days just prior to his arrest.
