James Nicholas was arrested Monday for allegedly failing to report annually as a registered sexual predator for at least the second time.
Nicholas has remained in the Jefferson County Jail since his arrest and appeared in court today via video from the jail. He was advised of the Class 2 felony charge against him and of the possible penalties if he’s convicted, including extended sentencing.
He was convicted in the state of Ohio of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 9-year-old victim when he was 21.
Nicholas is next scheduled in court August 15 for a preliminary hearing.
