The Boy Scouts of America Troop 103 passed out bags in Mt. Vernon and Summersville last weekend to kick off their Scouting for Food initiative that’s been going on all week.
The program ends this Saturday when the Boys Scouts will be going around and collecting the bags starting at 9am. Chairwoman, Debbie Wright, says this program has a storied history.
If you did not get a bag or do not live in either of those areas, and want to participate, Wright gave a rundown of the types of items they would like to see brought in to St. Mary’s Gymnasium, who is sponsoring the program this year.
Wright says this initiative can be a huge difference maker in someone’s life this time of year.
