A Herrin man was charged by indictment in U.S. District Court Tuesday with interference with commerce by robbery, in violation of the Hobbs Act, in connection with the April 25 robbery at the Valero gas station in Marion.
According to court records, Travis J. Taylor made his initial court appearance Thursday. He was ordered held without bond pending trial which is currently set for July 9.
If convicted of the Hobbs Act violation, Taylor faces up to 20 years in prison.
The F.B.I. and Marion Police continue to investigate the robbery.
