The Jackson County Health Department in Murphysboro will be open weekdays starting July 2.
Officials say since the state budget impasse was overridden last July, the agency – under the direction of the Jackson County Board of Health – has earned state funding, support from the Jackson County Board and expanded grants from non-governmental sources so that the department is on solid financial footing and can return to a five day per week schedule. The regular schedule for all divisions will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, July 10, the front building nursing clinic and WIC program will offer services until 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
