INA, IL — IDOT says bridge construction is set to get underway tonight, weather permitting, on the County Highway 42 bridge over I-57 in Ina.

The contractor will be allowed to close one lane of traffic on I-57 during the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, to facilitate demolition of the existing bridge and construction of the new bridge.

County Highway 42 will be reduced to one lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals. You should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution when traveling through this area.

To avoid any delays, motorists should seek an alternate route. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone as quickly as possible.
