MARION COUNTY — A 67-year-old Centralia landlord remains in the Marion County Jail, following his arrest Friday afternoon for allegedly pulling a gun on a tenant’s son.

Allen Campbell was arrested for alleged unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault.

According to Centralia police, they responded to an incident around 1:37 p.m. Friday that reportedly started as a verbal confrontation between the landlord and tenant outside the rental home in the 1100 block of East Second.

The incident reportedly escalated when the tenant’s son asked the landlord to leave his mother alone.
Campbell is alleged to have then pointed a gun at the son’s face resulting in the tenant pulling her own gun to defend her son.

Police arrived on the scene and both subjects complied without further incident when officers ordered them to put down their weapons.

Campbell was arrested because he allegedly drew his weapon first. Police say the tenant is licensed to carry a concealed weapon and was released without charges.
