MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $50,000 for a 26-year-old Centralia man arrested Sunday by Salem police for allegedly forcing his way into a Salem apartment and then robbing one of the occupants.
According to Salem police, Jerron Owens was arrested early Sunday morning after taking police on a brief foot chase.
Officers responded to the apartment after receiving a report from the 1200 block of South Marion in Salem of an alleged home invasion.
There were three people in the apartment when the alleged robbery took place.
Owens was gone when police arrived, but witnesses gave officers a description of his vehicle, which was located near Wells and South Hamilton.
Owens reportedly tried to flee for four blocks before stopping.
He was formally charged Monday in Marion County court with Class 2 felony robbery.
