CENTRAL CITY — After its sitting mayor recently resigned, the Central City Board of Trustees Monday appointed a trustee to serve as mayor for the next two years.
Ken Buchanan was appointed Monday to replace Terry Johnston, who resigned Thursday citing health issues and a desire to spend more time with his family as the reason for his departure.
Buchanan had previously served as elected mayor of Central City. His appointment leaves a vacancy on the board that he will fill with an appointment at the next regular meeting.
Monday night’s special meeting was called to fill the vacancy left in the Mayor’s office with Johnston’s resignation.
