JEFFERSON COUNTY — Bail has been set at $250,000 in Jefferson County court for a 31-year-old Mt. Vernon facing multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged calculated criminal drug conspiracy.
Timothy Boyd was formally charged Wednesday in Jefferson County court with three Class X felony counts of delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of methamphetamine, two Class 1 felony counts of delivery of between 5 and 15 grams of meth, and Class 2 felony possession with the intent to deliver a non-narcotic controlled substance.
In a separate case against Boyd, he’s charged with Class 3 felony theft and bail was set at $50,000.
Mt. Vernon police arrested Boyd Friday on the theft charge. A warrant in the meth case was then issued Tuesday and he appeared in court Wednesday to be advised of the new case and its charges.
A preliminary hearing in both cases is scheduled for June 25, along with a first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
