SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Our listening area has a chance to see strong to severe storms Wednesday.

The Storm Prediction Center has everywhere in Illinois south of I-70 in the “Slight Risk” area for severe storms Wednesday afternoon into the evening.

Wind and hail will be the biggest threats from these storms, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Heavy rains are also possible with any storms which could cause more flash flooding across the area.

After the storms Wednesday, the forecast appears to be hotter, but more importantly, drier heading into the weekend.
