SPRINGFIELD — Several Silver Dome Awards were awarded to Withers Broadcasting and Dana Communications stations in Benton, Marion-Carbondale and Mt. Vernon during the recent Illinois Broadcasters’ Association’s Conference and Silver Dome Awards presentation in Springfield.

WMIX in Mt. Vernon won Best Radio Station Community Service – Small Market Radio, Best Radio Station Use of Non-Broadcast Media – Small Market Radio for the @wmixsports Twitter account and General Manager Chris Hugo won Best Radio Play-By-Play – Small Market Radio for Rams & Rangers Basketball in early 2018.  WMIX’s Doug Dunahee placed second for Best Radio Personality – Small Market Radio.

Gavin Murphy from Alt2K 92.7 in Marion-Carbondale won Best Radio Humerous Commercial for Medium Market Radio. Murphy and Kellee Lipe, also from Alt2K 92.7 placed second for Best Radio Self-Promotion for Medium Market Radio.

Q106’s Barry Wright won Best Local Radio Newscast for Small Market Radio.
