JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 51-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty earlier this week in Jefferson County to one of 13 child pornography-related charges.
Sean Kipping was arrested in March on a warrant stemming from a joint investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Ina Police Department as part of belonging to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force through the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
The arrest warrant was issued as a result of evidence collected during a warrant search executed July 20, 2018, on Kipping’s home in the 500 block of North 12th Street in Mt. Vernon
Kipping was ultimately charged with 13 counts Class X felony possession with the intent to disseminate child pornography.
He pleaded guilty this week to Count 5 and per the plea agreement was sentenced to 30 years in prison. The other 12 counts were dismissed, also per the plea agreement.
