JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County has completed their tax deed proceedings on real estate properties that were deliquent for 2015 and prior real estate taxes. Now, the county is offering the real estate obtained to the general public.

Approximately 310 items will be offered through a sealed bid auction sale. All sealed bids must be in to the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office by the end of the business day on November 15.

County officials believe the sale of these lots will benefit both the taxing districts and neighborhood property owners by getting the properties into the hands of individuals interested in owning and caring for the properties. By eliminating abandoned properties, the appearance of neighborhoods involved should improve and property value should increase.

The required minimum bid is $825. All items will be sold to the highest sealed bid received before the November 15 deadline. For more information, you can go to www.iltaxsale.com.
