FRANKLIN COUNTY — Two people are recovering following a crash involving a car and a semi shortly after 10 Monday night on northbound I-57 in Franklin County.
According to Illinois State Police, 47-year-old Scotty T. Henry of Mounds City was driving his car north in the left lane on I-57 at milepost 75 at the same time 27-year-old Jonathon C. Adams of Jackson, Mississippi was going north in his semi in the right lane in the same area. When Henry swerved to miss a deer that was in the roadway, his car crossed the center line, side swiping a utility trailer in the rear that Adams was pulling with his semi.
Henry and his passenger, 47-year-old Nedra M. Henry of Mounds City, suffered major non-life-threatening injuries. They were flown to St. Louis University Hospital by Air Evac. Adams and his passenger, 42-year-old Erezell Huddleston of Brandon, Mississippi, were not injured.
ISP says charges are pending.
