MARION — The Marion City Council will discuss and possibly act on a Williamson County Enterprise Zone when it meets Tuesday night at 6:30 at City Hall.

According to the meeting agenda, the council plans to discuss with possible action an ordinance allowing the city to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Williamson County to submit the Enterprise Zone application to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Activity. Then the council will discuss and possibly approve an ordinance establishing the Williamson County Enterprise Zone.

The council is also expected to adopt a resolution committing local funds for local roadway improvements consisting of the realignment of the south leg of the intersection of Williamson County Parkway and 17th Street to correct a negative offset of the opposing left turn lanes and installment of updated traffic signals.

The meeting is open to the public.
