MT. VERNON, IL — The Mt. Vernon City Council approved the seeking of bids for Phase 2 of the CDBG grant to fix the water infrastructure in the city. City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel says this is the final phase of the revolving water line replacement project.

The project will include work done on 12^th street from Maple to Main, Casey Ave. from 5^th street to 1^st street, on Perkins Ave. from 10^th to Shawnee, Harrison Street from 10^th to the east end, and on 7^th street from the railroad tracks to Maple Ave.
